What, no more comments? Surprising

Guest: RGS (802 days ago)

If you believe in god then you are going to hell. Each religion assures us that if you don't believe in their particular god then you are going to hell - ergo - everyone who believes in god and religion is going to hell - I choose not to believe in a god so I am assured that I'm not going to hell...

I don;t believe in God! If he is the creator of everything, then who created Satan? Secondly, If God told us "thou shall not kill" but why did he created natural disasters where many innocent souls are killed, by HIM! ??? c'mon, wake up, we are what we are, God existence does not make sense

I think you have made some good points there but you do need to organize your thoughts on the subject so that your views have more impact. Sign up to Boreme.com and check out my sight. Would like a good exchange of views with someone like yourself

If you need your sight checked out perhaps you should see an optician?

Smart person vs. Extremely stupid person. My goodness, Hannity hasn't got a clue.

While I don't agree %100 percent with the author, I can completely relate to this moment of "fair and balanced" bullshit. I live in the midwest which means we have a church on EVERY corner, every charity is infiltrated with "ministry" which means if you want food you've gotta take the little bible we're going to give you (never mind that if we spent less on those we could buy more food). *sigh* It's funny, I've been accused of being bitter or hating God and I really don't. I'm one of those who would like it to be true. However, it is nice to hear someone confront that accusation fearlessly and have the balls to call 90% of the world on it's bullshit.

Religion also provided food, water, medicine, supplies, housing, etc. For the love of god, what a load of crap. Are you trying to say that without religion, we're most likely living in caves, hunting food like wildbeasts, incompetent to even to evolve and create our own technology, supplies and medicine? Screw you. If you want to say that religion is good, so be it, but don't go as far as saying religion is the backbone of human civilization. Do take note that religion also destroys houses, brings countries into war, which ultimately lead to poverty, hunger, etc. people's lives are now being dictated by religion, when it is us (the physical living mortals) that should dictate how religion should be controlling us. If you ask me, I rather just have one religion which all of us to believe in, and that is being a normal human being with good heart and brain.

how about everybody is entitled to thier own opinions? thats where i stand here. im my opinion non-believers are going to be very sad when their judgment day comes. but in the eyes of non believers im probably some crazy christian nut that thinks some magical being that noone ever sees created god and that churches are the most currupt institutions on earth. it seems like me and the four or five commenters under me are the only civilized people on boreme. sad really.

Latest comment: "Everyone entitled to their own opinion? How can you condone that if you believe that you know what The Truth is and that anyone who doesn't believe your version is therefore simply wrong? And each religion has its own unique version of The Absolute Truth. What a travesty! "

What a good idea - fighting about religion - wow, original!

Interesting view Maverick. A sensible way of believing perhaps. I find debates between religion and evolution very amusing. Neither side is going to back down but each wants to have a pop at the other. It's completely understandable to want to persuade people that your point of view is the right one of course. But no one can tell us what to believe. And that is what is wrong with religion. Take any sensible human being who has abolutely no knowledge of religion and give them all the facts and very few would choose religion. The ones who would need security which is something that religion can offer. Nothing wrong with that of course but it just seems a bit of a waste of the one chance we have to make a difference/enjoy life. Kinda sad that so many people waste their lives believing that something great is going to happen when they die. But then, to them, they aren't wasting it so I guess everybody wins. Except Hannity.

Guest: Mersault (749 days ago)

Yes. I am pretty sure now, Mr Hannity should spend time educating himself, instead of being on screen. I find his question absolutely outragous.

Guest: Bombur (889 days ago)

Hannity is a neo-con thug, you cant take him serious. I hate this evolution bashing, of the right wing. I am so happy to live in europe!

Guest: Hillarious Topic (425 days ago)

"Hannity's Hot Seat" Wow. That's a catchy title that's sure to attract all of the Irish-American intellectuals to the debate. We will have the definitive answer to everything soon then...

Guest: Anti-Hannity (619 days ago)

He may be good at reading from the teleprompter but I think it's safe to say that Hannity really hasn't got much between his ears other than a black hole. To David below: I believe it takes the end of a civilisation to turn religion into mythology. After all, or at least in theory anyway, our society and the division of ruling powers is based on a religious model; in the case of Western culuture that would obviously be Christinaity.

maverickrazormaverickrazor (818 days ago)

Religion, so i'm told, can provide spiritual guidance or spirituality. Nothing more. I believe in God. That is because I choose to. I have no illusions about the world in which we live. God to me is purely a spiritual thing. I believe the Mankind being inquisitive by nature and is therefore bound to discover new things. I don't believe that God is the Creator or the provider. We evolved and developed. This has nothing to do with God. I truly Believe that God was Created by Man. Without Man there is No God.

If us believers are wrong, then we're wrong...but, if you non-believers are wrong, then YOU'RE ********

Yup. We Atheists have balls of steel. (which orbit the sun BTW)

Guest: Mersault (749 days ago)

How can Sean Hannity mention such an extremely weak argument??? This guy's knowledge seems to be very limited, i.e. he seems pretty dumb to me from this show. If we accept God has been there forever, we could just as well accept that the universe (or what's outside of it - maybe a different universe with different laws) has been there forever.

Guest: John (758 days ago)

in danger of sounding stupid. a large part of this debate centred around the question of where the matter and energy that created the universe as we know it came from. Assumin religion is correct and there was no other place for it to come from but god. that of course leaves the question where did god come from?

Guest: El Johnno (376 days ago)

Oh, Shut UP, all of you!!

religion provides food, house, etc? come on man, that's bullshit. Wake up, be more realistic please, that's borderline extreme and quite stupid I must say. On the assumption that religion does in fact provide such things, well those are the things on the positive side, have you ever wonder what religion has contributed negatively?
