It isn't computer generated at all... he has made a square and then the middle beam comes out at 90 degrees towards the watch. then on the right vertical the beam comes out at 90 degrees away from the watch. by merely positioning the camera it looks as though the 2 horizontal detached beams join.

remove the middle connector and its just a plain shape; the larger part of the middle connector is attached to the front column, the smaller part of the middle connector is attached to the back (right) column, and the position of the camera just makes it look like the large part of the connector is attached to the back column.

I'm guessing all you need to see what's wrong with this picture is 1)disbelief in possibility of something like this, unless an illusion is in question and 2)to look at the shadow of the middle connector.

The middle connector is floating in front, perfectly positioned for the shoot, it is also probably of shifting, or at least smaller, size. And illusion is complete.
