You know, i was gonna nail you for for spelling "Acqua" wrong, but then I did some research on wikipedia, and I acknowledge that I was the one who was wrong, BUT while I was there I saw, I saw a picture of a load of tourists standing on a two foot wide walkway, and my first reaction was "NO WAY, would that be allowed in the U.K., there's no safety handrail!!!!", you would be shut down on the spot by some fooking stupid twonk with a clipboard shouting "'Elf and safety"

That's probably because either they were having their picture taken and, it's usual to smile at such a time. Or because they are actually tourists and don't live there. I'm guessing you are english because they never miss a chance to put themselves down - low self esteem thing I guess.

If this was in England everyone would be complaining and saying melodramatic things such as 'Our lives have been thrown upside down' and 'we're just totally devestated.' But most people in these pictures are smiling or just don't care.

and by the way, in the U,K. ANY step of ANY height is considered a "Tripping Hazzard" and would be illegal. Peirod. You would need a double handrail, the top rail being 900mm from the top of the step, with a toe guard. Jesus I bloody hate my country.

Enjoy it while you can. It will all be gone in 10 years.

PLANET EARTH FTW.

A more likely reason for the difference is that in Venice the water is probably a lot warmer. In England, your more likely to suffer from hypothermia... even with summer floods !
