That could improve the life of others... unless you're unfortunate enough to have political leaders that are pressured by religious groups. They will no doubt say say "they are playing god" and then before you know it laws will be passed to enforce their beliefs onto others... again.

Trevor... Jews, Christians and Muslims all worship the god invented by an Iraqi camel herder called Abraham. Science tells us that life started its evolution 3,5 billion years ago and condoms actually help in the fight against AIDS, contrary to what religion tells us to believe.

"July 20, 2006 - President Bush issued the first veto of his five-year-old administration yesterday, rejecting Congress's bid to lift funding restrictions on human embryonic stem cell research and underscoring his party's split on an emotional issue in this fall's elections. --- Bush said taxpayers should not support research on surplus embryos at fertility clinics, even if they offer possible medical breakthroughs and are slated for disposal."

camel herder from Iraq 4000 years. Guest I dont know what religion your refering to but science and religion can and do co-exist as long as one has an open mind to all ideas and respect for others beliefs.

If you would accept life saving measures utilizing transplanted material from a donor corpse, why wouldn't you accept a transplant of your own tissue? What does this have to do with religion? I don't see it as related to anything in the bible.

religious people are all fools at the end of the day

I dont understand how a religion started by a camel herder from Iraq 4000 years ago can still have such an influence on science and progress in a modern society.

I don't think a healthy Christian is going to say that this person is playing a god of some sort. I think this wisdom all comes from God. He has given us the wisdom to do many great things, and we will never be able to "create" life, we are simply duplicating using methods we have been allowed to understand. It's a great thing for all of us!!

Ace7, that was truly an ace comment

Latest comment: "Surely the church won't mind this. It's just a hugely more technical varient of the prosthetic limb or even crutch. Hundreds of years people have used wooden sticks to make up for the lack of a leg, now we're getting closer to replacing the whole thing. It's just technological advancement. Did they ban aircraft for making man fly? Cars for making man go fast? Get real. "

To anyone with a religious viewpoint, keep your noise out. This is science which is reality. Religion is imaginary. Keep them separate and don't try to use science to justify your religion. Science has already dispelled numerous religious "beliefs". This breakthrough is incredible and will hopefully become available to people across the globe very soon. At least a moron like G.Bush cannot stop this now :-)
