If that had been big enough to hurt the tank everybody in the Buffalo would be dead two. Hope the tankers stomped mudholes in every EOD there.

searchguruSearchguru (178 days ago)

What are you refering to as an EOD?

Guest (178 days ago)

Explosive Ordinance Demolition - basically the bomb disposal guys

ajhawkinsjrajhawkinsjr (178 days ago)

How did I not see this here???

ajhawkinsjrajhawkinsjr (178 days ago)

Explosive Ordinance Disposal, though I'm not sure why they make the designation. Is there a need to dispose of inert ordinance?

searchguruSearchguru (177 days ago)

It's Explosive Ordnance Disposal. Ordnance is weapons/explosives/munitions etc which includes Improvised Explosive Devices (IED). Which is what I think you want 'mudholes stomped into'.

ajhawkinsjrajhawkinsjr (176 days ago)

Where were you when I used two instead of too? I was referring to the idiots, sitting in the Buffalo, filming the tank driving over the ordnance they had failed to dispose of before clearing the tank to crush the car. I wasn't suggesting the tankers kick the crap out of the IED that would be MORE dangerous than driving over it with a sixty ton tank. Also if it's in a vehicle then the device is referred to as a VBIED for (V)ehicle (B)ased (I)mprovised (E)xplosive (D)evice.

You are 'preaching to the converted' here as I am and have been involved in this field of expertise since 1990. It is Borne not Based, as in it is carried upon or in a vehicle. Anything else you'd like to know about IEDs, cordon distances, actions on a find or terrorist considerations with regard to mortars (direct and indirect fire) etc. just let me know.

ajhawkinsjrajhawkinsjr (175 days ago)

I just put that wrong word in there so you'd have something to correct me on. Actually I know it's Borne, but that word looks wrong to me for some irrational reason and I avoid it in this context as a matter of choice. Based is a perfectly correct replacement which holds the same meaning. I think Concealed would be an even better description but that would **** up the whole anagram scheme.

searchguruSearchguru (174 days ago)

I take it the use of anagram instead of abbreviation was also deliberate.

ajhawkinsjrajhawkinsjr (174 days ago)

Either that or not, it's a mystery.

And TWO is a number that follows one and preceeds three

Guest: Guest (178 days ago)

How widely did they expect to 'diffuse' that bomb by running over it?

Guest: Tom (178 days ago)

That's the kind of parking zone enforcement we need here in London.
