The prototype of this plug is currently on show at this year's Royal College of Art graduate show. Yes folks, this wonderful piece has just been designed by a student.

That is such a good idea! Where can I get one?

Guest: I want a box full of em! (147 days ago)

I really hope that you have patent applications in place!! As this will make you very very rich! Pure brilliance of design. Without patents pending or granted, you could get ripped off and your design stolen

A brilliant design. You've managed to make a plug that is far smaller than previously imagined possible. Then you design an adapter that is the same size as the old plug?

Fantastic!!!

sweet! I want one!

Guest: good idea, more like butt plug (147 days ago)

The vast mejority of plugs are molded to the cable these days. If you want to change your old style plug for the new style, you buy the cable with it. Note that the film only mentions applications with modern items, not converting your old 1930's radiogram.

The UK plug may be the biggest, but it's far safer than our US versions or those funny ones they use in the EU.

Guest: Guest (140 days ago)

The US uses a non lethal voltage of 110v which is safer than the UKs 240v, we have the larger plug with an earth pin because of this, the plugs and voltages balance each other out.

Guest (64 days ago)

Bring water into the equation and 110v can still kill.

Guest: nunu (62 days ago)

it's not the volts it's the amps

Guest: Partypooper (147 days ago)

Brilliant until you show live going to the 'EARTH' terminal....Oops!!!!

Guest (147 days ago)

look more carefully, the Live goes around the housing and then down to the swivel part, so swivel!!

do you really think they'd go to this much effort then screw up the simple task of wiring a plug?
