is it really bad to keep these as pets? what sort of environment do they need? is it humanly impossible to provide a safe environment for these cute expensive little buggers?

I've read a bit about them, they seem to get really really mean when they mature, aka bite you. I've always wanted one, but it wouldn't be such a great pet when it hates you

Pygmy Marmoset. Full grown are about 6 inches head and body, and weigh around 7 ounces. They live for about 15 years and they have them at some zoos in America.
