Info: Peugeot Moovie concept car Designer: André Costa, 23 years old, PortugalThe brief was to create a small 2 seated city car powered by electric power.
The visual look was shaped by the two big electric wheels, hollow in the middle, where the doors of the car are located.
The wheels are big for a reason, the bigger the wheel less turns it has to make to travel - less turns equals less energy expended. The front of the vehicle is supported by two spheres, these are purely for support, the car turns by a system that allows one electric wheel go faster then the other. This system allows the vehicle to make 360° turns, great for parking and moving in small city streets.
To enhance the stability of the vehicle, the wheels are angled at about 10°.
The two big round doors slide along the side-front of the car taking up less space in small parking spaces, allowing for a better exit. The rear view mirrors fold up to avoid touching the doors when they open. |
