To Scott: The "Japs" always do the v sign because it's cute to them, and it's also a way of saying Japan. To count cylindrical objects you use the counter 'hon'... Like, when counting pens or pencils - ippon (1), nihon (2), sanbon (3), yonhon (4), gohon (5)... So, two fingers up, Nihon. Nihon is how you say "Japan" in Japanese.
