yeah the solution below is strictly within the rules as he doenst say that you cant create gaps between the 2 coins that you are moving. But if you stick keeping moved coins together it is a bit tricky

Very easily done in two moves still within the rules - not sure what all the genius talk is! move coins 4 and 5 so they become 1 and 2 and the new 4 and 5 so they become 2 and 3 - easy!
