That was what it was originally named, before it was changed to fit with the conventions of the time in the naming of chemicals (thus why we British feel that we have the "correct" spelling and pronunciation), only after that the discoverer changed his mind back to -num, and only the Americans accepted this change. So really the correct spelling is debatable. I'm with Aluminium though. On the other hands, they Americans still butcher English with: Tomatoes Sulphur Liqueur Cellphone Fries Chips and so forth... I mean, they can have whatever language they like, but stop calling it English! Call it American English at the worst!

France were ferocious fighters in every war before ww1 then they wanted to go home for Christmas their only mistake. and if it wasn't for franc America would have no chance of pulling off the invasions of Normandy in WW2. As for America we were one of the first countries to use modern version of guerilla warfare way back in the revolution.(the only way we won) And America didn't join the winning side of ww2. we joined the losing side and said to the hell with you Nazi's we'll still secretly give you cash but fight you in the end. but this women is the perfect example of where America's educational system is going what i said above was never taught to me in school, i learned all this through my own studies.
