Her family kicks major ass! They're great! Her dad is especially cool. I wish for her that more atheist will come to town and be friend with her.

Fucking cults.

I don't think it matters whether you're atheist, agnostic or religious - No fair minded person would sanction such vile behaviour as the school and town apparently have meted out to that girl. But by objective standards I don't think they're anymore in accord with their claimed Christian values than someone who blows up kids in the name of a religion. They're just scum.

Intelligent young lady, I'm happy that at least some people in this world think for themselves and stand up for their beliefs.

Guest: guest (790 days ago)

yeah, im from kansas and i ran into a lot of that too. glad im not there anymore.

This just makes me hate americans! how can they call themselves christian and then discriminate against people like that?? Bible says Love thy neighbor, thats some funny kind of loving by those 'christians'! Those people who 'claim' to follow god in that manner are no better than al qaeda, 'claiming' to follow a religion that doesn't support their actions!

It doesn't work for me...

We should have evolved way past legends and mythical creatures. Let us use our logic and reason and live life not in servitude to a fairy tale creature but taking in our surroundings and living life the way it should be lived.

This just another example of the dangers of religion and shows how christian's treat unbelievers..horribly! 91% of american's believe in a god? that's scary, Dawkins is one of the only sane people on here.

Guest: la di da di da (729 days ago)

wow. athiests are some narrow minded freaks. ya'll need to really stop whining about everything.

Guest: Guest (775 days ago)

Religion should not be in schools or sport.

Guest: GBart (789 days ago)

This is a secular country with NO state-sanctioned religion. If you don't like it you can get out!!

Guest: Five5six (818 days ago)

Very brave young woman.

Guest: Sarah (831 days ago)

Sometimes there are no words... She is so brave. But her dad is a twat and an embarrassment.

Guest (799 days ago)

this video makes me so angry being an athiest myself, how dare they who do they think they are discriminating against her because she doesnt believe in the bible? america is a sad place to live

Guest: d.l. nagengast (802 days ago)

bravo its nice to see that some of the young people in this country still have the courage to stand for their beliefs

Guest: Dan (799 days ago)

I don't understand why the pastor says, "It's still a free country and our young people are standing up for their faith," as if he's defending the practice of praying after games. There was no indication in this report that this family made any effort to get the prayers stopped. The girl simply chose not to participate in them. Seems like paranoia and a complete lack of understanding on the pastor's part.

She is very brave. The people in charge of that school are crazy. Suspension for her beliefs? And we say our country accepts all religions.

I grew up a atheist my mom was a psychic when i went to school i cried everyday, kids were harsh, mom home schooled me because i couldn't take it anymore. I've been in home school since. We moved but i still fear that it will happen again, even worse because my mother is gay now.

Jim - This is late, so you probably won't read this, but please don't confuse Americans with these narrow-minded christian zealots. I'm an atheist American and quite happy to live here, despite dealing with similar issues. BTW, I have serious issues with the 91% of Americans being christian poll they referenced in this piece. Who conducted the poll, how did they get the sample, and how did the polling occur? I can't take those polls seriously, and neither should anyone else.

I am an atheist, and I do believe that people should be able to have faith, for some people it is all that they have. That is one side of my thought. (the open minded part) The other side is kind of scared of what religion is capable of. I agree with the man in the video that it restricts free thought and in my opinion brain washes people. I feel that religion is the root of many of the worlds problems.

Maybe old W Bush should invade middle america to get rid of the religious extremists that reside there? oh, no he's one of them!! So all those 'terrorist locations he's invaded to unseat any religious based 'terrorist' groups, have just been replaced by his own religious based terror inducing troops! Somehow i don't think that replacing one evil for another will help much

Latest comment: "Not everyone who call themselves a Christian will get to heaven. Many will come and say 'Didn't we do this in your name, didn't we work for you?' Jesus will say 'Get away from me, I never knew you.' "
