Snake eats hippo

This is a young 6 metre long Sucuri (water-dwelling anaconda) from the Araraquara region of Sao Paulo state (Brazil). It was dragged out of the water (by men) and was unable to move on land because of the weight and the volume in the major (spinal) rings. So, threatened and wanting to escape, it regurgitates its meal. However, some have claimed this is not regurgitation, but swallowing, and the video was run backwards.

I dont believe snakes can regurgitate what they eat, which is why they sometimes burst when they overeat. Note the film loses sound when the regugitation occurs - probably because it is being played backwards. Hippo looks untouched once 'regurgitated' too!

Latest comment: "I think the video is legit. Notice that the man in the video walks forward and not backwards after the sound cuts out, which disproves that the tape was just played backwards. Also, when the snake first regurgitates, you do see some stomach fluid (slimey stuff) come out and cling to the hippo's legs. I believe the snake ate the hippo, but something was wrong and it managed to regurgitate it....kind like snake bulimia, lol!! Thanks "

constrictors regurgitate when stressed or under attack - that then leaves them with the chance to eat their attacker!
