He reminds me a bit of Alex James, bass player in Blur, who holds an honours degree in astrophysics from Bath University, and apparently (according to Wikipedia) is also partly responsible for the creation of Beagle Mars lander, as he came up with the first idea, which led to the craft being built.

I made the magnets for lhc i worked in orb works newport gwent making and grinding them to size and finish it was all top secret then
