I'd love to think they were intelligent. The people who pay to see wild creatures in tanks, I mean.

Bombur, 'dolphins are the men of sea' because they're beautiful and intelligent? Surely that makes them the women of the sea?!

I don't understand how this air can just stay underwater, but I'm sure it can so I enjoyed this alot!!

@guest Because the pressure created by the spiraling water in the vortex exceeds upward pressure of the air.

Clearly, the dolphins were bored out of their minds and had to do something to keep from going crazy.

Obviously suckem is bitter about the fact that he was a pile of shit in his last life and that he couldn't accrue enough karma to move up the food chain in this one.

I'm not sure about this. How do the dolphins create such precise vortexes so as to control the bubbles so accurately? And how come the circles don't distort. They hold air and air floats.

I've always wanted to swim with them one day, but now I REALLY do. Maybe I was a dolphin in another lifetime. I feel a great connection with dolphins. Beautiful!!

This creatures really are the men of the sea. So beatiful and intelligent, it is a shame how we treat them.

And dolphins are NOT fish. According to the Japanese they taste like panda.

After a lot of practice I can now do this in the bath. Beans before are an essential.

How do you create a bubble ring? The web site this came from explains it - Squeeze your lips to a small orifice. Keep it closed though. Your lips should look like being ready for a kiss, though a light one (not that wet smacker of your mother in law...). Slightly increase the air pressure in your mouth. Now very quickly open and close your lips so they pop out a very small amount of air. Abrupt closing is essential. The air shall really pop out. When all goes right, the air will form a ring.

I wish I could do some of those tricks with smoke rings. Alas, it just doesn't work the same.

I'll second that. Any physicists or engineers care to chime in and give us some insight on how they maintain the vortex.
