Wes24 - youre sooo wrong its ridiculous,, firstly deslaination is done through ion exchange, so F*** you, the oil is not used. and the whole reason theyve made this thing is to increase the revenue from tourism, thus reducing overall dependency on oil trade. so even if the oil runs out, theyre gonna have a Sh** load of money cos of all the eccentric tourist schemes

You all dont realise one thing! This is about being successful. your all saying its crap, not good. If your so Macho, why dont your countries government build something spectacular like this? Dubai relies on using oil to desalinate all the water it needs. When the cheap oil runs out, the whole area will go back to desert. It will be all over in 50 years.

Do you suppose these houses are for working people? Can you imagine what rush hour is going to look like when all these houses are occupied? It is still track housing and I can't believe people with money would want to live in these places especially with 37 degree plus temperatures 5 months of the year.

to be able to create something like this is just stunning. it is a true engineering feet, however 1 big natural disasture and the whole island will be nothing more then a pile of ruble and sand. as beautiful as it is, i doubt it will survive for longer then 20 years, if nothing mayor happens to it in that time.

Yeah sun, sea and beaches, and the freedom to live a mindless and hollow existence. If you started showing any political tendencies not in line with the current regime I bet life would start to get a lot less comfortable - but they, why would you? You've sold your soul already, so might as well shut up and enjoy it. And like Pikey says, this has nothing to do with race and everything to do with the corruption money and oil breeds. And most of the Pakistanis and Indians there are the slave labour that's built this 'paradise', if you live there their blood and sweat has gone into every brick of your house so you should be thanking them instead of treating them like invisible sub-humans.
