So the elephant should be grateful that he is in captivity, being forced to do tricks by humans? Because if not, he might get shot by humans? Wow, we humans are amazing.

Trained or not this is just bloody amazing to watch, something so big using such a small brush and getting such detail is awesome. And at least the elephant is fed and looked after, maybe if it was in the wild it would be dead by now, shot by hunters.

This is the most beautiful thing I have seen in a long time. Shows not only can elephants enjoy making marks but can visualize themselves dancing with giant flowers! I have trouble painting with such confidence and provision, let alone with a trunk! Move over Matisse!

Trained or not trained. Who cares! For an elephant to remember in such detail and precision the exact moves - well, that says something to me. He seems to be enjoying the crowds reaction and enjoying the whole thing in general. Free him and he'd surely be shot by an idiot with a gum. Here he has a purpose.

I have seen elephants paint on a trip to Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand. The "new" ones partly paints self expressions but the old ones are surely trained. However it is still fantastic they can do a painting at all, what other animal can be trained to do that beside a monkey and an elephant? Plus it looks like they are having fun too :-)

it's really sad. the elephant is doing just trained moves. hes not really drawing. animals don't have the ability to reproduce objects (especialy not form 3D to 2D, i'm not mentioning the abstraction of drawing just outlines)

Very well done. Would be nice if it was acutal self-expression, though.
