He trained, they all trained. Unfortunately the other two trained less in the "how to start a race" section. Why do you think he would have been any worse than the others once in the pool? Why are they more deserving?

He qualified for the games through a wildcard system to enable developing countries without exspensive swimming facilities to compete. It was the 1st time he had ever swam in a pool of that size.

yeah but why put somebody in such a sport when he can probably do better running? or anything else in the Olympics for that matter? I mean you want funny... this was silly waste of time for the other two who actually trained for four years...I'd be pissed.

in an interview he revelaed he didn't realise how far it was and hadn't ever seen an olympic pool before. "the last 50m were really hard"
