I would not class that as an optical illusion. That is mearely blocking off the other 5 frames so we can make sence of the 1 that is left.

I may be wrong, but I think that's pretty similar to John Logie Baird's original design for television.

This could be a really useful educational tool, speaking as a student, I think this would help in the classroom, especially in subjects like biology, where 2D pictures often leave concepts difficult to grasp and may confuse. Sorry about the dreadful sentence structure...
