Nice! Very nice to know when your son wants to start karate-training...

You're wrong. Placing the fingers together forces the metacarpal bones of the human hand into a position where they cannot themselves laterally against the load of a strike. You need to understand proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and attenuation before you speak of human anatomy posture.

yeah, what he said

Wow.. For a black belt he sure had poor form on his shoto strike. His fingers should have been held together to give the muscles in the side of his hand more power and stability and his thumb should have been held back. Still, impressive that he got through the block.

Latest comment: "are you kidding me?, i could probably learn to do that in a week, that's not a fricking brick, it's a cinder block, in other words it is mostly air bubbles, like a whispa or aero chocolate bar, i recognize those things a mile off, i work on a building site and you balance one on the end of a finger, they weigh nothing.. cool seing the shockwave travel across the surface of the block though, i liked that!
