A drive out to the desert to take similar photos would have been a lot easier and more convincing to the conspiracy theorists.

Actually, a stage light like that sends rays out in a manner similar to a sun-like object further away, on account of the mirrors surrounding the actual bulb. Were this not so, from the distance away they had that lamp, the shadows would have appeared as diverging straight away, without any recreation of topography.

not totally convinced, I'd prefer to see it done with a light source that is farther from the model. they should have done this in a stadium, just so that it's more convincing to the conspiracy theorists.
