That's why I never voted for sloppy dressed Ghandi, but I did vote for nice Mr Hitler and his tie wearing chum J Stalin. The trains ran on time as well. I say we shoot more people who don't wear ties. Vote Michael Jackson!!!

To be honest, the kind of people who read the New Yorker would realise its satire aimed at the media. It's the red neck organisation that redistribute the cartoon to other rednecks which is the problem.

It's a deeply unfortunate state of affairs when the American discourse has reached a point where the satirical content of that cover isn't sufficiently blatant for there to be a genuine concern expressed by the Obama campaign that a sufficient number of people will construe it as reinforcing their beliefs about him rather than sending them up...it's a tragedy actually.
