Adam,everyone in the UK should call a black person nigger, and when they get accused of being racist they should say they were just speaking spanish lol. Besides you're not white! probably more a pinkish yellow to olive peachish colour, so next time some calls you 'white', you call them racist for segregation, besides, technically you're caucasian!

I got to agree a bit with Pete! Why is it so offensive to call a black person nigger? They call each other that all the time! besides, if calling a black person 'coloured' is now offensive, call them black, oh wait, nigger is derrived from noir/negro which is french/spanish for black!!

It's the historical context that the word has been used in the past that makes it offensive. Calling someone a "whiteboy" is miles away from calling someone a paki. Aussies call themselves "Aussies" - Australian English uses dimunitives a lot (ie barbie, Sunnies, arvo), so the root of the word is different from Paki. Similar is calling people "coloured" - which in America is now considered derogatory due to segregation.

Just my two pence... Bernard Manning was one of the best comedians that ever lived, the vast majority of violent crime in the UK is carried out by coons and Pakis (there, I said it), gypsies/travellers etc are more properly referred to as pikies/scum etc. If someone want to call me a whiteboy I should be able to call them a nigger/Paki or whatever. At the end of the day Paki is just an abbreviation of Pakistani, no-one complains about calling Australians Aussies.

A Gypsy is a travelling person who roams the country. Earning a living from selling clothes pegs or lucky heather. They may offer to resurface your drive with 2mm of Tarmac, as good as new and will last for years. They may flout local planning laws when setting up sites so that likeminded travellers can join them to compare their untaxed and uninsured 4x4s. Some may speak harshly of travellers or even make jokes, but in the UK they are just part of the diverse multicultural society we love.

It is illegal to call someone 'whitey' or the like. But because White is not an ethnic minority in the UK, it's not socially considered as bad. Legally it has the same standing.

i agree with carl,its the same as its seen as ok to call white men 'white boy'...it sigles out the white race as a whole and makes a direct insult to men who are no longer boys.its like calling a black man ni..er.yet it's accepted like theres nothing wrong with it.neither are acceptable in any way.

Best comedy is found in the clubs and not on TV. If you go and see a "racist" comedian you know what to expect.

Where is the balance in this? Its ok to make fun of white people but all other races are a taboo?? I have no problem with that but in a multicultural society all should have the same right.
