Leaving them alone is why September 11th happened.

Bravo, the most misinformed, retarded and inane comment on the internet this week !! Let me guess, you're a STUPID AMERICAN .. No ? Then just plain stupid .. ill informed and have no clue as to anything to do with global politics !!

Care to actually make a point instead of just insulting?

Care to do some homework on world politics and some history homework as to who's been in and out of that region and why since the 1700's, instead of just coming across as a total retard ?

Done my homework thanks. Still no point to make huh? Apart from the rather bizarre suggestion that September 11th was due to anything that happened in 1700 - and not to do with the power vacuum left by the US in the 80's. What happened hundreds of years ago is just that-history.

Post-80s, the US made no more than a token effort to respond when it was attacked. If they had, in 93 done what they did in 01, then it's inarguable that September 11th would have been prevented. Just pointing that out really. Still, at least it gave you a nice little soapbox to air your newfangled pop-politics that you've been itching to show off. Says more about you than the US.

Bin Laden had reasons: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2002/nov/24/theobs- erver He was fighting against the constant attacks from US troops against the middle east. The UK join in post 9/11 and then we get attacked. Pull out and let them be, the west will be safe again.

Bin Laden has reasons that he'd like you to believe - such as perpetuating the myth of the Palestinian country - an area of land that nobody cared enough about to accept a state there, when Britain had the mandate.

But besides which, looking through history, there are countless countries that have been 'interfered' with that do not wage war on their supposed oppressor. Their are also countless countries that have waged war without any interference whatsoever. That destroys the argument that this entirely due to US foreign policy.

I never said it was justified. I can't comment on what happened in the middle-east before but the slaughter of innocent people is never justified. All I know is, the US were not 'leaving them alone'. Do you really think Bin Laden woke up one day and decided to start a war for no reason? What has he got to gain by doing so? He wanted to make a point, and he certainly managed to. What's his head worth now? Let's get searching ;)

Latest comment: "You might well ask what reason did Japan have to attack the US. Everyone loves power. Killing innocent people is justified if you're saving more innocent people in the process. It's impossible to prove, but that could well have been the case with Afghanistan in the '80s. Even the current Iraq war has barely raised the level of casualties per day to above that which happened across Saddam's two decades in power. "

You are soooo wrong. Sept 11th happened because the Western world interferred in other peoples buisness that didn't want the help.

Guest (14 days ago)

Are you referring to the 1980's? The US had to do something. It's fashionable to hate the US intervetionist policy, but at least they want these countries to stand on their own feet. The soviets would just have crushed any sort of resistance.

Guest: just my opinion (14 days ago)

The US or USSR only did what they did for their self interests not for the people of Afanistan, Iraq, so please dont tell us that US etc.. are helping others when really they are just stripping nations of their assets or just controling them. The US funded an trained the so called Taliban and Bin Ladin in te 90's

Guest (13 days ago)

Well, you're not arguing that it was the wrong thing to do - just that it was for the wrong reasons. What assets did they take from Afghanistan?

maldonianMaldonian (14 days ago)

"Just leave people alone". A great idea my friend, until you come up against a Hitler or some other fundamentalist regime. Doing nothing then would have meant everyone here would be speaking German. On the eve of remembrence day, this is particularly stupid and naive.

Guest: Egassem (14 days ago)

Your comment is particularly stupid and naive aswell .. and it's remembrAnce day ( learn to spell ) and the eve of it is the 10th of Nov seeing as Remembrance Day is the 11th !!
