WRONG! This only works if the glass is a true cyliner, as in the sides must be vertical. Most glasses in my house have a narrower bottom than top. As an extreme example, think of a classic martini glass where the sides are steeply sloped. Using this technique, the martini glass would probably hold nothing.

If it wasn't for Americans you Europeans, especially Brits, would probably be using clay tablets for a laptop and a pointy stick for a mouse. Okay, maybe you'd be using quilted pens and a pad of paper, but you'd still be deprived of modern technology starting with indoor toilets.
