Could it be that parrots use their mimicry to defend themselves in nature? By posing themselves as their enemy? For what other reason can parrots imitate such a wide range of noises?

Interesting therory PeterV. It could be a combination of mimicry defense against predators and as a mating dispaly/ritual. Which ever male can imitate the most sounds gets the bird. Get It!
