Press The Show | Viral Summit | Press
Of course the Outrageous and Contagious exhibition at the ICA has raised the question; Can virals be classified as art? Brian Sewell, broadcaster and commentator, has accused the ICA of not knowing where to draw the line. He says: “Frankly I don’t see what this has got to do with art” He also thinks that: “It’s all best ignored”. And that “This kind of thing really has no intellectual foundation. It’s feeble rubbish. It makes me wonder why this place is given money.” Ekow Eshun, artistic director at the ICA, believes that “It is a fascinating phenomenon. And it is important to hold on to this moment and frame it.” See links below for full quotes and other press: The Independent on Sunday The exhibition attracted plenty of other media coverage including news spots on Channel 4 and BBC.
