Latest comment: We did not 'sprout' or 'evolve' from monkeys. Humans, Chimpanzees, Gorillas, Orang Utans, Gibbons and Old and New World monkeys evolved from a common ancestor about 40 million years ago. That ancestor is as different from monkeys as it is from humans in evolutionary terms. We have all continued to evolve since then due to the different environmental stimuli our ancestors experienced and which we continue to experience.
