By the way, Dörflein died of a heart attack September 2008, one year after the separation, but this had nothing to do with Knut. So they said.

Just an update: Knut (not so cute anymore) still lives in the Berlin Zoo, the contact to the guy, who brought him up (Thomas Dörflein, was seen in this video for a second) had been ceased more and more because the bear grew too tall, even when only playing he could cause severe injuries - so the experts of the zoo said, but the other video here about polar bear playing with dogs obviously prove them wrong.
