No fakes here. I'm in beijing for the olympics and I was there the other day. Most things were pretty nice though some of the insects were horrible like centipede, little crunchy legs in teeth for ages afterwards. Also chicken hearts were disgusting. This market is mostly for tourists though and most chinese food is excellent.

I have eaten horse while on holiday in Malta. Not too dissimilar to beef. And while in northern Italy, I had "horse tartare" (raw meat, raw onion, raw garlic with raw egg). So eating horse is very normal for a lot of normal people. You should get out more.
