You're quite right, MissAnneThrope. However this is no reason to therefore legalize everything else that people are irresponsible with. What kind of logic is that?

Marijuana smokers should not be put in prison, they should be made to do community service. Things that honest, hard working, non smoking, non drinking, people shouldnt have to do.Junkies are like young single parents that do not go to work and are just spongers leechs a waste of time and space and a drain on the economy.

So, PC614, you'd be in favour of criminalising tobacco and alcohol? What about refined carbohydrates? Did you know that pure carbohydrates (white sugar, white flour) are highly addictive and habit forming, as well as being physically harmful? What about food flavour enhancers like monosodium glutamate which are also known to cause neurotoxicity?

Most of the airplanes in WW1 flew on fuel from the hemp plant. They even had the decoration of independence written on paper made from it! The oil men convinced the US goverment to abolish the use of hemp fuel and start using gasoline which the oil men would provide.

**** legalising it , would be taxed lilke crazy and the chemicals that make you think more taken out, they dont want us having non government weed becasue if we all smoked it we would wake up!!!!!!

Guest:  (1571 days ago)
The only way to get rid of the mas production of ethanol from hemp was to prohibit the use of marijuana citing " anti social and health" reasons. BRING BACK THE WEED!!!! The governments of the world have spent too long screwing us blind.

yes we should. it's the largest cash crop in america. the government keeps it illegal only because it isn't taxed

Guest: African drifter (1571 days ago)
the world keeps it illigal because of an obscure deal made in the early 40's between the US goverment and oil merchants and producers of that time.

I blame the cotton industry. Apparently, Cannabis and Hemp in particular were considered unfair competition for the cotton growers who produced textiles and it was outlawed. Only later did the drug issue emerge... Decriminalise please.

I am an idiot, and I want to legalize a chemical altering drug which has established negative affects on the body's neurological and nervous system. YES IT HAS.

Latest comment: The word canvas as in oil paintings is derived from the word cannabis. True early canvas was made from cannabis fibres. Rope was made from hemp which is of the same family of plants. Cannabis in all its forms is as bad for you as many legal intoxicants. Why is it illegal in so many countries? If it as good and harmless as everyone says then someone has got it wrong.
