Elephants are one of the few animals that can recognise themselves in a reflection (I think only apes, (not monkeys), and dolphins can do that). They can also recognise the skeletal remains of their own kind, and when they find a dead elephant, they pass the bones amoungst themselves, like they were paying respect to their dead. They are one of my favorite animals... They also have very very very big ears.

I can't stop watching this story, I love it. Though I'm surprised that the elephants paired off rather than having a larger group under the leadership of an older female. Maybe because this is an artificial gathering of elephants rather than a natural extended family grouping ??
