What a self important pri@k. He does not speak for the nation. He was once in prison for fraud himself. Actually, most people I know are even more (if thats possible) peed off with the politicians than normal.

He mentions the fact that he has "fiddled things", his point was that for journalists to get fired up and make this into a national story is a bit more hypocritical than the crap they usually try to wind folks up over. Yes be angry, but be informed and be angry about important things, not this thing right at this moment, it is wasted energy which could be better focused elsewhere.

Latest comment: I've never heard such codswallop in my entire life!!! Any other person would have been locked up in jail for fraud, if we fiddled out expenses to such an extent as some politicians have. We pay MP's for their work, so we have every right to know what they charge us for. It reflects upon their ethics and what decisions they are making on our behalf. It would be like giving a blank cheque to all MP's and saying 'take what you want', just as long as you're working.

Have to agree with Stephen. Its all a diversion tactic, these stories are all planned and the goverment know when they will start and when they will finish. They can then choose to make other decisions which are unfavourable and hopefully will slip in unnoticed.

Actually, Stephen, no I haven't ever cheated my expenses. And I've never dodged taxes or fraudulently claimed benefit. So I get just a tad annoyed when I see people cheating and stealing.

People whinge at the Government over this specticle, however it is they (Labour) who introduced the Freedom of Information Act in the first place, for this very type of thing. Without it we'd never know. Most of which are dressed up, just to boost paper sales, but some are concerning. What IS worrying is that this is nothing new, probably has happened for the past century if not more.

Rubbish you silly arse - some of these politician are 'fiddling (Translation = Stealing) between £16-£25,000 per year. That is what some hard working people earn in the uk these days - pompous arse. To think I used to quite like him!

May I be so bold as to say, sir, that you have completely missed the point? Taking more money than they perhaps should, whilst regrettable, is nothing compared to the greater failings of politicians - e.g. getting into bad wars, causing people to die.

Wow- he's lost weight. I'm afraid I agree generally with the sentiment. It's not really like I had confidence in any of them to begin with - this hasn't really changed anything. And frankly - I think 90% of those that are moaning would have done the same thing if they had had the opportunity.
