Ok so how many of you guys actually kayak? searchguru, there is a ton of skill involved. I kayak and i know the skills involved to run a waterfall and even one of this height requires a ton of skill.

searchguru, you havnt a clue about the skill involved. Start kayaking and you'll quickly learn that it aint the easist thing in the world.
Running a drop this big takes an immeasurable amount of balls and skill.

Seems to me that once you've gone over the edge there's no skill involved. It's just luck that he didn't die.

Maybe... I would guess your survival would depend on a) keeping the kayak pointing in the right direction for the duration of the fall, and b) righting the kayak after the fall, both of which I bet take no small amount of skill.
