have any americans here ever met a brit??
i'm scottish, i know yanks, and they are great people, i know british and they are nice people (with great teeth) Where did this hatred of each other come from??
yes the yanks bailed us out of WWII, which was nice of them, but you dont need to remind us of it all the time.
yes the yanks have a reputation for being stupid, but that doesnt mean we have to remind them too.
lets all shut up and rip the crap out of france instead

Good idea; slimy, cheese-eating surrender monkeys.
Q. How many Frenchmen does it take to defend Paris?
A. Don't know - they've never tried.

Now now, you shouldn't really slag the French when they're not here to defend themselves!! & we all know how good they are at that!!! (apologies to Al Murray!)

Make their race. We should be careful about admitting that one.
Invented pretty much everything? Never heard such sh1t in my life. Yanks invented nothing but stole everything.

Latest comment: I don't understand why the tornado didn't stop. The train conductor clearly begins blowing the whistle at 00:13. The tornado should have heard the train. Stupid tornado.

Stupid American trains, you need a tornado to stop your trains, we in the UK just need a light breeze and a couple of leaves.

Why must you UK knuckleheads have to call us stupid americans all the time. All we did was invent pretty much everything you enjoy.

I agree, whats better a train that can take on a twister or a train that can't take on some leaves?? If you can't see the irony in that then you're stupid regardless of which country your from

I give up, for once I was being complimentary about the Yanks and criticising our own stupidity when it comes to running trains (which we invented by the way). Given Guest (2) total lack of understanding of the point, it re-enforces the stupid American line (a running joke on boreme).

Up until the USA bailing us out, they had been supporting the Nazi's by openly holding rallies in their country, and refusing asylum to thousands of refugees! If they had helped out rather than left it as Europe's problem, millions may not have died.
Kinda quashes the idea of, omfg thankyou so much america!!

For once can the Brits and Americans just shut the f*ck up. Everyone knows Americans are stupid and when a Brit says this then all the Yanks have to say is we saved your asses in WW2!!!! We all know this is true too, a fact most Brits are secretly very happy about. Lets just stick with the facts that the Americans are fat and stupid and the Brits are dirty, lime eating, murdering bastards with really bad teeth. I know which one I'd rather be.

use of limes by the British Royal Navy to prevent scurvy gave rise to the name "limey" for an English immigrant in the former British colonies - Wikipedia

So your driving the train through a really bad storm. Trees are whipping rain is slashing horizontally across your windshield, the wipers aren't helping. Suddenly you are thrown forward as the locomotive slams to a complete halt, bouncing off the console you land in a heap on the floor. You pick yourself up and brush off the Cheetos and diet coke that pelted you, relieved you didn't break your neck you check the rear view monitor. At first you can't see the rest of your train, then out of the swirling mist you see a fountain of sparks and realize the tanker four cars back is sliding down the track directly at your loco. You are trying to remember whether it is loaded with vegetable oil, sulfuric acid, or natural gas as it slams into the other end of your compartment at thirty miles an hour. It'll all be funny over beers tomorrow but right now you are just trying to find your extra pair of pants.

Speaking as someone who's lucky enough to have had a good, modern education (ie I'm under 30yrs old) CAN WE PLEASE GET THE WWII FACTS STRAIGHT. The most important turning point is universally accepted as being the Battle of Stalingrad. The Russians 'won' WWII. The US helped bring a swift end, which is important, but the Russians did the hardest, bloodiest, most heartbreaking work and therefore should take the most credit.
