All the 'poor' people I know live in rent free council housing, have a TV in most rooms, a Wii console, Sky/Virgin channels, laptop(s) with Broadband, have at least 1 Continental holiday a year and all the kids of 6 years and older have their own mobile phone. And in most cases they have been given this by the Labour Government, funded by me and all other tax payers in the Country. The only people that can justify voting Labour are those that fall into the above category.

As Cameron said today in a 'read my lips' moment - he won't cut benefits. So it's not like a Tory vote will change that.

If all the 'poor' ppl you know don't pay any rent, "have a TV in most rooms, a Wii console, Sky/Virgin channels, laptop(s) with Broadband, have at least 1 Continental holiday a year and all the kids of 6 years and older have their own mobile phone" then you don't know any poor people

"then you don't know any poor people " That was my point. The only poor people in this Country are those who choose to be and that certainly doesn't include the sick, lame and lazy.

Yep. It's a ball. I'm on long term sick because I have a border line personality disorder (caused by years of child abuse) and I have to live in some shitty council flat and have no money to have any kind of life what so ever. I went to college and uni to improve my lot and worked my arse of to stay there while paying my own way. Then I got ill and was forced into a life of povety. It's not a good life, it's barely exsisting.

You can still work with borderline personality disorder. The reason chavs dont work is because they somehow think the world owes them a decent living. The same with scag heads. "Its not my fault society ****** me up!" Well guess what? That makes no ******* difference. You have to work, not for wages but to create and attract industry in this country. Without our industry we will collapse and youll find out what real poverty is about.

So you're obviously a rich toff? Conservatives only look after the rich population. If you are one of the majority, you will end up getting f***ed by the Conservative party (again, if you're over 30)

Who said anything about Brown and the Labour Party? So you're quite happy to pay extra taxes from now on? Or would it be more sensible if people with hundreds of thousands in the bank payed it off? I bet you were moaning about all these bankers walking off with £100,000+ bonuses, for screwing the country... I think they can afford an extra few grand a month, where as I can't afford the extra few hundred coming out of my salary.

The Tories do not understand the economy. The last time the Conservatives were in power they destroyed the British economy. Even more, they wasted the oil bonanza which could and should have sheltered the UK from the worst effects of the 80s economic storms, and could have provided the basis for a stronger and much better funded public infrastructure. Instead it all ended in ignominy on Black Wednesday

Rubbish. After the last labour government left the country bankrupt, with an 83% tax rate, paralysed by the unions, and bailed out by the IMF, the tories saved the country. Thatcher took the fall for the waste and spinelessness of the labour years.

Because she had a vision, and was powerful enough to not mind being hated, she was able to do the right thing. She stopped paying the miners to do something useless, and allowed real industry to thrive. She empowered the working classes by giving them their own home. She was hated for all these things, but still people kept voting for her because they knew it was the right thing to do.

And it was the right thing to do, because it knocked the economy into shape, paving the way to the success of the nineties. So much so, that labour had to transform themselves to get back into power.

Leeching off the back of the Tory-fuelled good times, Gordon spent his way into power. Jobs here, jobs there. All created by your tax money. Popular move? Spend more, and when that runs out, borrow to spend. Record investment in the NHS - easy, borrow and spend. Unemployment too high? Throw our childrens taxes at it. Education, education, education? Sell the family gold.

This financial crisis isn't about the banks. It's not even about the recession. It's simply about spending more than a country can afford. If we cannot save £6bn, how are we ever going to pay back the £600bn that we owe? We are bleeding money as a country.

But it's all OK, because we're in the recovery. Growth has slowed to a whopping 0.2%. That's before the major cuts. That's before the NI rise to hit the private sector even more. That's before interest rates rise above an unsustainably low 0.5%. That's with us pumping money into the economy and devaluing the pound and causing inflation. That's with us still losing hundreds of billions every year. Gordon's thrown the kitchen sink at it and its not working.

Because Gordon has a mental block that stops him from realising that the public sector is not the economy, It is supported by the private sector. Anyone can create jobs on borrowed money - but nobody is better off in the long run. Thank god we've got a tory toff to be the pounce pony and cut out all the undeserved niceties we have. Before it's too late, and we sell our children short with a mountain of long-term debt. We may hate this man, but my god, we need him.

They have made the wrong moves at every turn in the current banking crisis and recession, and their plans for early cuts are the exactly what we do not need if we are to see the recession over and growth restored with minimum pain.

I know, who would want a leader with the finest education money can buy, a ton of money in the bank and an experienced cabinet behind him, who is interested in supporting the middle classes and small business, thus creating wealth for the masses if they can get up off thier lazy arses and have a go at it! if you vote for anyone else you will pay for it with years of economic gloom!
