Answer: They created an over-powered heavyweight un-responsive, crap-to-drive publicity stunt that was hardly capable of corners... so Yes, if you're an American they pretty much produced the perfect car.

Quite true, but if you're American, 'the perfect car'. True/not true?

Thanks.... I really should remember to sign my work though :( Colin: Thanks for pointing out that BMW was in the title. It may surprise you, but I noticed that. At no point did I suggest that it was built by or for Americans. I merely suggested that as it was massively overweight, loud, pointless and show-offy while being utterly useless, Americans would really identify with it.

If this car was built today I would agree with that , but this car was made more than one hundred years ago and meant for the race track. At the time it was built it was pushing the bounds of what was possible to do with what would have been for the most part cutting edge technology. At that time it was not show-offy it was a look into what could be. It still is a master piece of European car history that most would be proud of. But we Americans do love our cars, that's no secret.

Built over 100 years ago, and still more economical to drive than an American SUV. ;o)

Latest comment: This is not BMW and not a car from 1908. Only the underpinning is from a 1908 LaFrance firetruck(american company).
The eninge is a 1930s BMW fighterplane engine. And the car is recently build.
