It's a good explanation. He's trying to explain valence levels in a simplified visual way. Pretty tough concept if you've never taken Grade 10 chemistry. If you really want to get messed up, throw in polarity (this is how 3D movies in theatres work). Bill O'Reilly calls this witchcraft.
