Pixar's zoetrope

Pixar's zoetrope

The zoetrope is perhaps the best way to demonstrate how animation works. So Pixar created a stunning 3D version that comes to life right in front of your very eyes.

Evolution works the same way. Each individual is one frame and it looks as if there is motion, but there isn't. This also explains why creationists get hung up on transitional fossils - they want to see something actually moving in between each pair of frames. But it's only an illusion of motion.

It's cool - but it doesn't really show me anything different from an ordinary zoetrope. It doesn't 'explain' animation any MORE.

It's fantastic but how do they freeze each frame? Not a strobe, they say (at 1:20) but what do they use instead?

"Instead of flipping through theme we're using a strobe light" is what was said.
