All animals (including us) read body language instinctively. She has absolute confidence in what she's doing, which is confusing them. If she was prey she would be running away which would set them off, but because she stops and challenges them, they balk. When she squats down, they don't feel as threatened, and they relax. Easy stuff, but damn brave to try it with large cats.

Cheetahs do not live a in pride, lions are the only big cat that is peculiar in this respect, therefore behaviourally they would not gather or attack as a group; their strength is in chasing and not fighting prey animals. Behaviourally, they use intimidation as a defence mechanism, as fighting could threaten their survival, hence the demonstration of her running, but stopping suddenly. I believe this must be a wild game reserve and she is one of their keepers; it is known that cheetahs are easier to 'tame' than other big cats.
