Treat the cause. If we hadn't illegally invaded Afghanistan, then we wouldn't be paying excess charges on transporting weapons of war!

I'm sorry, but the extra expense, whether or not it would be reimbursed at a much later date. After you went to PSD and pleeded your case, should be billed as extra as per the contract. When the offical orders say 4 pieces than that is what goes. None of the troops are responsible. Shame on you Delta. Showing your true colors.

Why is this a big deal? They can just get reimbursed when they get back.

They did honor their contract. As you stated you are allowed to bring extra bags when traveling from a tour home to America. This is a problem while traveling domestically. By the way I am sure you will be able to submit the extra travel expenses.

It's terrible because of the the disconnect between Delta's employees and their policies. What if they hadn't had the money? Would they have had to leave their weapons behind?

If you exceed your orders by paying for your own luggage then your unit is not required to reimburse you, be it your own fault or not. It's hard for those not in the military to understand how this issue just exemplifies many other issues and hardships when returning home. And Stuart, go to hell. these men did their job and are lucky enough to make it home alive, they don't need to be shit on by the airlines or by ungrateful little pricks like you.
