Latest comment: He’s answering a charge which no one seriously believes. Of course his objection to Bachmann and Palin is his disagreement with their world-view. The fundamental difference between the political poles called ‘conservative’ and ‘liberal’ by the media in the U.S. is the latter bases it’s moral view on hedonism/utilitarianism and the former on a grab-bag of everything which is not hedonism/utilitarianism, which is why ‘conservative’ as used by the press covers everything from religious fundamentalists to objectivists, ultra-nationalists and libertarians… His conceit is to define Bachmann and Palin as insane, but that’s just the style pundits like Maher use to get people frothing at the mouth, which is what passes for political discourse nowadays.
