try to look at it like this. Sin is a disease, no different than cancer or AIDS, in fact, sickness comes from sin. Sin =death. If your sick then you need medicine, an antidote, to that sickness whether you think so or not. Jesus came to die for you and everyone so you, we, could be healed. But, your not forced to take it. It's an invitation, just like any Dr or hospital would offer treatment. It's a choice to receive it or not. It's more about perspective and a heart that's open to see it with love attached to the offer; instead of the pop media culture view point. I was expert on christianity without ever looking into it myself. I hear the same argument over and over, nothing new. If you want to know if God exist, ask from your heart. If God doesn't then never mind. If so, it could be the greatest discovery of your life. Worth a shot.

Latest comment: I believe in Thor. It was a magnificent discovery. Ancient Viking myths prove his existence. My perspective is true and I will follow my heart rather than my rational mind. Viva Delusion!!!!!

In an ideal world, human common sense would prevail & we would all laugh at the thought of a deity. Humans, in general, are *********

what a doleful situation to be in. You must spend the better part of the day being offended. Perhaps you ought to pick up stamp collecting, or perhaps some other hobby that doesn't involve human interaction

I think the caller's objection was never really addressed. If I understood him correctly, he was questioning the origin of morality in Athiesm rather than the mechanisms of God's judgement. I think if you subscribe to an Athiest creed, you've got to go all Nietzschian and say there is no good or bad, or you have to explain our human morality by saying something like it's a beneficial evolutionary device or something. That still doesn't explain why a person individually ought to be moral though. That seems problematic to me.

I'm not rejecting the possibility of its existence. It's possible, just like lots of other things that are possible. But that don't make it so. Unicorns are a lot more possible: just a horse with a horn. Heck, we could probably do the genetic engineering to make them real sometime this century. But a magic god is a lot less possible.
Actually, I correct myself - many gods have collections of properties that make them impossible. For example, the xian god is usually described as the "most" in everything. So he's the biggest, the most loving etc. But he must also be the smallest, the meanest as well. That kind of thing rules him out of ordinary existence.

and then christians send in their armys and squash the hordes of unbelivers, and do it in the name of god, no one else matters anyway as anyone who does not follow the christian god is not American or even human and don't deserve a say in anything.
When you hear conservative leaders refering to Americans, they are talking only about christians. Yes, I'm tired of listening to religious extreamists trying to control this country, I think they are capable of the destruction of the the world just to get their way

From the point of view of an atheist, debating religion (when you're not debating god's existence) is a bit weird. For the atheist, discussing god's morality is a bit like discussing Donald Duck's morality. An atheist doesn't reject god, he believes god is fictional.

From the point of view of a Christian, an atheist believing God is fictional is the same as you rejecting God. But i still cant understand why you care what i believe in?

Bit difficult to reject something that doesn't exist. I don't care what you believe in as long as it doesn't affect anyone else. What did you think of the video?

a bit weird formulation. you are not rejecting something that doesn't exist, you are rejecting the idea (possibility) of it's existance.

I don't reject the possibility that god exists, I just think it's very improbable. That's not the same as rejecting god. I can't reject god because I've no idea what I would be rejecting. Maybe you can explain what an atheist is supposed to reject?

Why don't you beleive in Zeus, its beyond me, its in a book so it must be true. Please accept Zeus as your lord and savior and you will be granted 1,000 ducks upon entry into neverland, please make sure that you put this religion into the law and try and impose it on everyone, IDIOTS..., religion is a contradictory book made by man that does not work in any capacity, some people take that as truth but still beleive in the diety but the diety only exists in the book so why beleive the diety .... Stupid. The other thing that makes me really angry is that if you truly beleived the book then wouldn't you be so fearful that you would live by the book as best you can. pray all day, life would be a mere moment compared to an eternity in heaven. Also why do you cry when someone dies if you beleive you will see them again.I think because deep down you all know its crap but you choose to "beleive" because you are scared of death.

Personal belief or not aside, It really helps your argument if you can spell properly
"deity" and "Believe" for Christ sake!

iono.. maybe because athiests dont have to PROVE anything? maybe because science is fact, and therefore indisputable? This guy has nothing to preach, because science doesnt need to be defended. Thats the beauty of facts and evidence, they pretty much speak for themselves. This show is about trying to talk some sense into the people who have been brainwashed, not about pushing his own agenda.

How can you say that science is fact and indisputable when daily we read about scientists disputing other scientists "facts"? How often have you read that something is good for you only to read a week later that it is not? So not all science is indisputable as it is only theoretical.

Because scientist's publish their results, and the media publish them. Facts are usually not made by scientists until multiple trials have been done by multiple scientists but you're newpapers take one result as fact and don't wait for the rest. The LHC in Switzerland is a great example, one results came out a bit dodgy, their are now 4 units trialling the same experiment and sharing results. Done!

If you're one of those people who believe the earth is only 4000 years old, then we have nothing to talk about.

Science is a method for getting facts. Scientists are humans who use the scientific method to figure stuff out. If you are unsure what the scientific method is, google it. Humans are fallible and facts are demoted if they are shown to be unfounded. Compare that to how religion deals with facts. It doesn't. Religion is based on faith, which is basically "facts without the need for evidence" a totally nonsensical concept.

the truth is, either God exist or not. Either God created everything, including man, or not. If God did, than what man thinks, at the end of the day, is irrelevant. I have FAITH that God does exist, did create everything and does care what I think; but not enough to adapt Himself to my standards or my way of thinking. I'm a father and I don't let my little boys run the household, what they feel and think is important but its based on a very limited life experience and limited knowledge of the ways of the world. I think of God as a parent. But i have a choice to except him or not. Thats my freedom of choice, will. Hell is a place where God does not dwell and if all good things come from God than hell is the place absent of good things. It's a faith, heart issue. The truth is God loves you and is waiting and willing to listen to your heart, grievances. Take a step and give it a shot. Maybe it's bunk and or maybe there's something to it.
