Fareed Zakaria - The most influential book since 9/11

Fareed Zakaria - The most influential book since 9/11

The Arab Development Report (published in 2002) was a United Nations report written and researched by Arabs on political, economic and social state of Arab society. The frank results showed the appalling decay of the Arab world. Ten years on after 9/11, there has been barely any change.

The arabs have the same problems and issues as the rest of us, too much of the money is held by too few. However, they are held back in some cases by certain elements within their faith which seeks to exploit this and unless this changes things will never improve. Womens rights, and the rights to free and fair education is the starting point. Go look at a photo taken in Iran or Afganistan 40 years ago, you will see lots of women walking around in skirts and a happy population then Islam took over and the real decline set in.

great idea, let's give more money and power to muslims. Let's give the the world's most radical, violent, and dangerous society more money so they can afford bigger bombs for their suicide vests. Arabs are people too, and they deserve to kill as many innocent people as they feel they need to so they can get their virgins in paradise, right? Clearly they aren't doing enough damage to democracy and world peace, so let's give them a means to better spread their fear and hate. This news clip disgusts me.

Latest comment: it is you who is ignorant, and who doesnt realize the threat islam is to the world. You obviously dont know anything about islamic faith, or their morals (or should i say lack of morals). I fear for the world's future because of people like you who THINK you know better, and hide behind this illusion that you have to stand up against hate. THEIR ENTIRE FAITH IS HATE. I am not american, and i generally dislike americans, but one thing that i am happy for is that you americans are holding back the middle east. Without western involvement and control in the middle east, this world would be too vulnerable. One of the single most upheld beliefs of muslims is that they must convert as much of the world as they possibly can, and the Koran allows them to use violence, to lie, to kill innocent people in order to do this. Please learn a little something before you start name calling.
