Capitalism hits the fan

Capitalism hits the fan

Lecture on the economic meltdown. American economist Professor Richard Wolff breaks down the root causes of today's economic crisis, showing how it was decades in the making and in fact reflects seismic and systemic failures within American-style capitalism as a whole.

Capitalism's efficacy sows the seeds of its own demise by unemploying the consumers on which it thrives.

Yeah. But Marxists like Wolff have been saying the same thing for over 100 years. They were wrong then and are wrong now.

How exactly are they wrong? They're not being listened to by the general public but just because no one is listening it doesn't mean that Marxists were wrong. Try reading the communist manifesto before criticising Marx and Marxists

I've not only read the Manifesto, I've also slugged through Das Kapital. We have been waiting over 100 years for the workers' revolution in the West. It hasn't come, and it won't come in my lifetime. Where there has been revolution elsewhere in the world, it has invariably led to misery on a grand scale, and often to mass murder. The classless system that Marx imagined cannot exist, because it takes no account of human nature. Instead, the attempt ro create it leads to a new class structure, far more marked and brutal than the old one. Orwell was right, and Marx was wrong. The "proletariat" would have been better served had he found a cure for the piles that plagued him.

Just saying someone is wrong without explaining why you think they are wrong, makes your point pointless

He is proving marx right by demonstrating a shallow understanding of capitalism - system justification?
