Coast guard vs Concordia's Captain Schettino

(4:00) Get back on board Captain Schettino! Audio recording of a conversation between the Italian coast guard and Captain Schettino when he was already in a lifeboat. Maritime law, which is international, states that the captain should be the last person to leave his sinking ship. He is required to remain onboard to co-ordinate the evacuation.

I'd have that coast guard as the captain of my ship, he's badass.

Although his claim that he fell into a lifeboat *seems* like a shockingly lame lie, the actions of hundreds of Italian footballers do point to general tendency for Italians to fall over rather easily.
