I just wasted a few minutes of my life waiting for some insightful message. Some people will spew any dribble to pretend they are intellectual. I hope young people are not influenced by this trash.

Latest comment: Wow, Ian, all that success and you're still a jerk. How'd you do that? That's the miracle.

This is crap. I am a film maker - I have been to over 80 countries and earn a 6 figure salary. I have 6 - 8 weeks off a year, I love my work and I get massive satisfaction from it. And this was down to perseverance. What an idiot.

despite their best efforts, the majority of people are unhappy with their jobs - statistical fact "While discontent is spread across all age brackets, incomes and regions, The biggest decline in overall job satisfaction in respondents aged 35 to 44 (from 60.9 percent in 1995 to 47.2 percent in June 2003). The lowest job satisfaction was reported among workers aged 45 to 54 with only 46 percent indicating that they were happy with their jobs. While 54 percent of participants 65 and over said they were satisfied." what an idiot.

Ian, part of the point of his message is following your passion, which you seem to have done, and good on you. Perseverance alone means little without passion. The problem is, Smith communicated that important point very poorly.

This is very good content, very poorly delivered. I feel like I am watching my uncle trying to be cool and funny for my friends. Maybe Larry was having an off day. Dan Pink says the same things with more passion, conviction, organization and intellectual support.
