Brian Cox - Everything is connected to everything else

(1:42) Particle physicist Professor Brian Cox explains the Pauli exclusion principle, in the simplest of ways of course. His use of the term "energy level" sparked off fury among some scientists. Next video is about that fury. From BBC's 'A Night With The Stars'.

Latest comment: From non other than Richard Feynman "It is safe to say that nobody understands quantum mechanics". If it's good enough for him it's good enough for me

It seems to me that Brian Cox did the right thing. He kept his explanaition of the Pauli exclusion principle as simple as possible (a first approximation). We are not all quantum physisists. Most people do not understand the basics of the 'real' world, let alone the quantum world and you have to introduce them to a complex subject somehow.

Sounds like b*llocks to me. There is no way him rubbing up that Diamond changes anything outside of that Diamond, other than warming his hands up a gnat's.
