Bush: I wish they weren't called 'Bush Tax Cuts'

(2:59) Former president George Bush made a rare public appearance at the Bush Institute Conference on Taxes and Economic Growth in New York City, expressing regret that his name is attached to one of the largest tax cuts (for the rich) in US history. Cenk Uygur from The Young Turks doesn't sympathise.

Of course he wishes the cuts were named after someone else. with his name attached, it is a reminder of the mammoth balls-up he made while in office.

Latest comment: Did Bush create those tax cuts or was that created by Congres (House of Representatives and the Senate)? The President has no ability to change any laws (tax or anything else). The best he can do is veto a bill if they do not get the required number of votes to make it veto-proof. Do you know how many votes there were and could he have vetoed it?

Besides the tax cuts for his donaters and friends there is 9 billion dollars missing and not raceable. And more regret are the hundreds of thousands killed or wounded in Iraq plus the 40,000 Americans killed and wounded. That was a big price to pay for the lies and deceptions from the Bush/Cheney administration. And the financial wreck of the American economy.

People like Bush and Cheney (among others) didn't, and still don't give a shiny shit about the troops who died, their families, the people who are going to give their lives for a pointless 'war' or, if it comes down to it, any one else. They got obscenely rich from Bush's two terms in office and threw the idea of American betterment overboard to do it.
