The Lion King - Voice over sessionThe Lion King - Voice over session

(0:19) What you hear is not always what you think you heard. This a roaring lion in The Lion King, perfected in the studio. Also, try watching with your eyes closed while picturing an angry lion.

Would it not make more sense to take a quick trip in the car down to the zoo so that we can record actual lions. Deary me! The world has gone absolutely mad.

Yeah lets stick thousands of pounds of recording equipment in front of a lion and then p*ss him off so he roars!... after you into the pen.

No, you stick the lion in a very small cage - 6 foot, by 8 foot - and put the recording equipment outside of the cage, just out of his reach. Then you prod him with a javelin, he will roar. Cheap and effective! Idiots.

Latest comment: Real lions never take direction and they always miss their cue.

But Richard, you need to get the lions interested to make that kind of noise. Do you have any suggestions ?
